All Hail Hilliard

The rich history of this city will have you saying, “All Hail Hilliard!” before you know it. Originating from humble beginnings, Hilliard began when John Reed Hilliard bought a mere ten acres of farmland in western Franklin County. He purchased the land between Big Darby Creek and Scioto River, and honestly, we believe he couldn’t have picked a better area. The city grew around the railroad route and served as a primary shipping point for agricultural supplies. Much like today, historic Hilliard was comprised of a combination of residences and businesses—some of which still stand in the well-preserved city!
